Mt Gravatt Hawks FC is proud to announce an exciting partnership with Griffith Sport, opening the door for full-time Griffith University students to play competitive football in Brisbane while studying.

Through this partnership, Griffith University students can register and play with Mt Gravatt Hawks FC as an official Griffith Sports Club, gaining access to one of the largest and most diverse football programs in the city — at a significantly reduced cost.

A Club for Every Level of Football

Mt Gravatt Hawks FC is Brisbane’s largest Social Men’s Football (11v11) club, fielding nine Metro League men’s teams, alongside established FQPL Men’s and Women’s programs.

This structure allows Griffith University students to be placed in teams that match their experience, ability, and competitive goals — whether they are returning players, experienced competitors, or students looking to balance football with university life.

  •  10 Metro League Men’s & Women's teams

  •  4 Masters Men's (O35 & O45) teams

Heavily Subsidised Fees for Griffith Students

As part of the Griffith Sport partnership, eligible students receive:

  • Heavily subsidised and reduced registration fees

  • An additional rebate provided by Griffith Sport

  • Access to high-quality training facilities and competitive league football

This makes playing football at a high level in Brisbane more affordable than ever for Griffith University students.

Pre-Season and Competition Details

Hawks FC pre-season training begins in mid-January, with official league fixtures commencing in March.

Students who are not relocating to Brisbane until later in the semester are still encouraged to get involved. By completing an Expression of Interest (EOI), the club will hold places specifically for Griffith University students, ensuring they can join once the academic semester begins.

More Than Just Football

Joining Mt Gravatt Hawks FC offers more than matchday football. Players become part of a community-focused club with strong social connections, experienced coaching staff, and clear pathways for development across social and competitive levels.

For Griffith students new to Brisbane, the Hawks provide an ideal way to:

  • Meet new people

  • Stay active alongside study

  • Play organised football in a supportive environment
