Hawks and City Sign Historic Partnerhip

Mt Gravatt Hawks FC is pleased to announce that we have signed a strategic partnership with A-League hopefuls Brisbane City Football Club. Hawks President, Mark Brittain finalised the agreement between the Hawks and the Newmarket based club over the last week.


“Both clubs have a proud history of producing top players from around Brisbane. The clubs share similar values and philosophies on coach and player development and it was a no brainer to create a partnership with what we see as potentially the next Brisbane A League club” - Mark Brittain on the new agreement


Part of the agreement sees Mt Gravatt Hawks and Dittmer Park become Brisbane City’s South Brisbane Campus, which both parties will collaborate in football and in business affairs. This will also include Hawks becoming a partner of the MyCity program which is designed to provide players with more football and access to many professional football

services.

Mt Gravatt Hawks FC stand firmly behind the the FC Brisbane City bid to become the second Brisbane based Hyundai A-League team and believe creating this historic partnership will help that bid take another step closer to joining the league in the coming seasons.


Head of the MyCity program for Brisbane City FC, Nic de Jong congratulates Mt Gravatt Hawks for having the forward thinking to help their local community improve the overall level of football on and off the field. “Brisbane City is very proud to join Mt Gravatt Hawks in partnership for 2019, it’s an exciting time for both clubs. I believe that City can create a pathway for Hawks players to play at the highest level by supporting the club in coach education, program development and club mentorship”


Hawks will become the Southern Brisbane feeder club for City in 2019, which it hopes will attract talented local players that wish to be mentored by some of Brisbane’s best coaches. The partnership will create many opportunities for players and coaches to improve the overall standard of football in Brisbane.


The agreement will commence with immediate effect with many more exciting announcements to come.
