Hawks Unveil New Charity Partner

Updated: Jul 23, 2019

Mt Gravatt Hawks FC has found a unique and exciting way to support their chosen charity during the 2019 season.

The Hawks will donate $10 to the Children’s Hospital Foundation for each goal they score in the Vilic Law Capital League One this season.

“To partner with such a wonderful organization which is helping sick kids and their families through tough times was a no-brainer for such a community-orientated club,” Hawks president Mark Brittain said.

“Past seasons have seen us lose our engagement with charities, so it is good that as a club we can give back.”

On top of the Hawks donating $10 for each goal, there will be an extra incentive for the players to score goals on three different weekends this season, when the donation is increased to $100 per goal.

Those three weekends include the round six clash at home against Annerley (Sunday, March 31), round 12 at home against New Farm United (Sunday, June 2) and in Round 20 when hosting North Star (Sunday, August 11).

Children’s Hospital Foundation chief executive officer Rosie Simpson said the support from Mt Gravatt Hawks FC would go a long way towards working wonders for sick kids in hospital, and their families.

“The Children’s Hospital Foundation works wonders for sick and injured kids by funding vital medical research, critical equipment, and providing entertainment and support for children and their families in hospital,” Ms Simpson said.

“Everything we do is about creating a brighter future for sick and injured kids. The generous community support we receive, such as this from Hawks FC, really does make a big difference to children and families when they need it most.”

The Hawks will launch the partnership on Sunday when they take on Annerley FC at Dittmer Park.

Reserves kick off: 3pm; First team: 5pm.

The partnership has raised $50 already this season, which will hopefully get a boost with $100 per Hawks goal during this weekend’s match.
